On March 2, 2023, the CPSC announced a recall of Chinese-made water ski boot retainers。The recall involves CTRL Imperial Wakeboard boot retainers, which consist of boots that are attached to the base plate of the retainer, which is then attached to the wakeboard。Wakeboarding is a water sport in which a rider stands on a water ski and is dragged behind a motorboat。The base plate of the holder and its boots are black or white, the boots are open-toed design, and the side of the boots is printed with the word CTRL in white。The recalled product models are WKBCTIMP0419, WKBCTIMP04WH20, WKBCTIMP0619 or WKBCTIMP06WH20, all of which are printed on the packaging。During use, the retainer may partially separate from the heel of the retainer base, or the external retainer base may break and separate from the water ski, potentially causing the user to lose balance and fall into the water。
